Yorkshire and Harrogate Trip

Join IOW Tours for a holiday to visit to Yorkshire and Harrogate departing on Monday 17  October and returning on Friday 21 October 2022.

Visit Harrogate in the heart of Yorkshires Moors at the Cairn Hotel, perfectly situated for us to explore North Yorkshire’s sights and history.

The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, with spectacular Pennine scenery, is made famous in the Brontë sisters’ home in Haworth. Spend a few hours exploring the ruins of Fountains Abbey before following the river down to the sprawling Studley Royal Water Garden.

Step through the gate at Ripon Jail into the prison yard, where you can “lock up” your friends and family in the pillory or experience the whipping post. At Ripon Museums, the Workhouse & Courtroom will fascinate, in the company of your costumed guide, especially if you are put in the dock for your groups’ mock trial!

There is also an afternoon in Harrogate - a visit to Betty’s tearooms is a must while there!

The hotel

The Cairn Hotel was built during Harrogate’s period as a Spa Town when people came from far to take the waters. The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of town and has been carefully modernised, with its grand original features to welcome you.
